For one caterpillar you will need 6 apples. Sort the apples by size and place them in a row. Secure the apples together with toothpicks. Attach the caterpillar's head to the top. The body of the caterpillar is ready, all that remains is to make the legs.

For the caterpillar legs you will need pieces of peeled carrots. Like apples, they are attached to the caterpillar's body using toothpicks. To decorate the face, cut out 2 indentations in the apple-head and place grapes in them - these will be the eyes. Just below, make a depression in the shape of a smiling mouth and carefully decorate it with a piece of carrot, cut to resemble a smile. To make the caterpillar have funny horns, pierce the apple head with toothpicks and plant grapes on them.

Apple crab

This apple craft is very easy to make. It turns out very cute, so your child will be absolutely delighted when he makes it with his own hands! To make this crab you need to cut the apple into two parts. One part will be used for the body, and the other will be cut out for claws. You don’t need to do anything with the first part of the apple, just stick the eyes in the center. They can be made from peppers, olives or drawn with a marker. Cut the second side of the apple into two equal halves. Cut them into thin slices. 8-10 slices will be enough for you. These will be the crab legs. Fan out the apple slices on a flat surface with the largest ones at the bottom.

All that remains is to make the claws. To do this, cut the core from a third of the apple. You will get two semicircular blanks. Cut two triangles of flesh from them with a knife to get something like claws. Place these claws near the lobe legs and add the crab body on top. The apple crab is ready!

The simplest and most effective version of an autumn craft is an apple caterpillar. She looks beautiful, always interesting and a little funny. To create an autumn craft you will need:

  • 5 apples. There may be more of them, depending on how long the caterpillar is. You can take a wide variety of apples - yellow, green, red. But preferably round;
  • 1 carrot for creating legs;
  • Toothpicks for the same purposes, as well as for fastening apples and other parts;
  • 1 grape for the nose. You can use different varieties, but I prefer the green oblong version;
  • A handful of cranberries or other berries for beads, threads;
  • Moving eyes. You can replace them with plasticine, cut out of paper, dark berries;
  • Leaves or any other material to decorate the head.

How to make a caterpillar from apples for the autumn holiday

To begin with, you should put aside one of the most beautiful apples; the head of the caterpillar will be made from it. In total there will be 4 apples on the body, which means 8 legs will be required.

Wash the carrots thoroughly; peeling them is not advisable. Cut 8 circles, 1-1.5 cm wide. Previously, I took two carrots so that the circles were the same width. After all, carrots are thick at the base and very thin at the tip. But now I used only 1 carrot, I attached the large circles at the back, and the smaller ones at the front. Insert a toothpick into each circle at once.

Attach two toothpicks with carrot pieces to the sides of the apples.

Using toothpicks, connect all 4 apples, assuming that where the tail is, this is the back of the caterpillar. For reliability, it is better to fasten the apples together with two toothpicks.

After the body of the apple caterpillar is completely ready, proceed to the head. Glue the eyes and attach the grape nose with a toothpick.

Connect the head to the body, again using one or two toothpicks.

Finally, create an interesting look for the caterpillar. I glued two dry maple leaves with double-sided tape, and stuck a rowan leaf into the apple. She strung cranberries on a thread and decorated the fashionista’s neck.

The apple caterpillar is ready; it certainly won’t go unnoticed at the holiday.

Autumn is a very generous time of year. She gives us a huge amount of tasty and healthy vegetables and fruits, golden foliage, luxurious late flowers, acorns and chestnuts. And all these gifts can be used to make children's crafts. In this article we will tell you how to make a caterpillar from apples with your own hands.

Beautiful apple caterpillar

Craft “Apple Caterpillar” step by step

You need to choose beautiful apples for crafts

To make a caterpillar from apples, you need to prepare:

  • carrot;
  • apples;
  • grape;
  • rowan;
  • toothpicks;
  • dried flowers, ribbons of different colors, thick threads and other materials for decoration at your discretion.

It’s good if the apples for the craft are picked from the tree and not collected on the ground

Another craft option

Carrots need to be washed and dried, cut into circles about 4-5 mm thick. Insert a toothpick into the place of the tail in the apple, string one carrot ring and attach the second apple. Repeat until the body of the desired length is obtained.

These carrot circles need to be prepared for the caterpillar

You need to make a head out of the largest apple. It must be attached perpendicular to the body.

Red apple caterpillar

When the insect's body is formed, it needs to be supplemented with legs. They can also be made from carrot circles and attached with toothpicks.

Chokeberry berries will replace the eyes

As eyes, you can use chokeberries, grapes, or blanks purchased at a craft store. A beautiful nose comes from green grapes.

Rowan beads will be a good decoration for the caterpillar

If you plan for the caterpillar to be a girl, you can put a bright hat made of dried flowers on her head or attach a bow made of satin ribbons. Do-it-yourself rowan beads will also come in handy.

Funny caterpillar

The boy caterpillar should also be decorated. A small dark-colored hat and a blue bow made from ribbon or intertwined knitting threads will come in handy here.

You can decorate the insect with satin ribbons

To make the craft last longer, it needs to be fixed on a cardboard backing covered with a beautiful fabric.

An easier way to make it for kids

Another way to make a caterpillar from apples

There is another way to make an apple caterpillar. It involves the use of fruit cut into small pieces.

Apple slice caterpillar

First you need to prepare a sheet of white cardboard, and then lay out the body of the insect on it. The legs and horns can be made from colored paper, the head from cardboard or an apple circle. The eyes should be cut out of apple peel and colored in with a marker or molded from plasticine.

Caterpillar with horns made of beads

The disadvantage of this craft is its mobility (the apple pieces are not attached to the cardboard base in any way), so you need to carry it to the exhibition very carefully.
