How to apply gel polish. Gel polish - application and coating technique. Covering nails with colored gel polish

– one of the best developments of recent years in the beauty industry. Having appeared just a few years ago, this product has taken a high position in the market among nail care technologies and materials. Only in Russia and the CIS countries dozens of manufacturers offer their gel polishes (from the most popular CND brands, NSI, OPI to unknown Chinese companies). Today it is one of the most popular materials for creating beautiful nails. Therefore, it is not surprising that almost all modern beauty salons and private nail technicians offer their clients the service nail gel polish coating.

What gel polish is is described. In this article we will look at the technology of applying gel polishes to nails. Its advantages: simplicity and speed of implementation, preservation of the color intensity and shine of the coating for the entire period (up to 3 weeks), preservation of the natural nail plate, absence of allergens in the materials, and the removal procedure without filing.

By following the correct technology for applying gel polishes, we can achieve a flawless coating throughout the entire period stated by the manufacturer (from two to three weeks, depending on the company). At the same time, the nails look completely natural, without cracks or chips, while maintaining their shine.

Sometimes gel polish begins to peel off the nail or crack within the first days (or even hours) after application. To avoid such problems, we will consider in detail the application technology and typical mistakes when applying gel polishes.

The initial stage of gel polish application technology is preparing the nail plate.

1. We give the nail the shape we need. Then we align the free edge of the nail plate and thoroughly clean it of dust.

If the edge of the nail plate is peeling, carefully file it with a fine abrasive file. We use files designed specifically for natural nails, and not for artificial materials, abrasiveness 180x180 - 240x240. When processing the edge, you cannot place the file across the nail plate; all movements are performed in the plane of the nail, that is, we move the tool along the free edge of the nail.

Preparation of the nail plate for applying gel polish. Pushing back the cuticle

Preparing for gel nails. Nail treatment

Before applying gel polish, you can do a manicure. If oils and creams are used at the same time, be sure to clean the nails from them with special means and dry them well. In any case, you need to remove the cuticle from the nail plate so that the gel polish does not peel off shortly after application.

2. Remove the topmost keratin layer from the nail plate. For this we use a coarse-grained buff. Please note: we only need to remove the gloss and make the surface matte! Do not press too hard on the tool, so as not to scratch the nail and remove too thick a layer from it. Such zeal can lead to the fact that with each new application of gel polish, the natural nail plate will become thinner, lose its strength and healthy appearance.

Gel polish application technology. Treating the nail with a bond (dehydrator)

From the nails treated in this way, we remove all the remnants of dust, moisture and fat with the help of a bond (dryer, dehydrator). This is necessary for good adhesion of the gel polish to the nail. After processing, do not touch the nails with your fingers and do not allow dust and moisture to get on them.

The next stage of the technology is the application of the base gel.

Before applying the base gel, it is advisable to coat the nail with a primer. It is used for a stronger adhesion of the gel polish base to the natural plate. Mandatory for use in cases of thin, weak nails, in the presence of bundles and brittleness. The primer is applied to the entire nail, including the end. This will avoid peeling and chipping of the gel polish.

Now we move on to applying the base gel directly. A few words about what it is needed for. The base gel creates a molecular bond between the natural nail and the artificial material (gel polish) and is thus responsible for the strength of the entire coating as a whole. Its second function is to protect the nail from the colored pigments contained in the gel polish.

How to apply gel polish correctly. Base gel coating

Gel polish application technology. Drying in a UV lamp

An important point: applying each component in as thin a layer as possible. Base gel is no exception. Take a little gel with a brush and rub it in from the end of the nail to the cuticle. Then we make straight movements in the opposite direction (from the cuticle). At the same time, we do not touch the cuticle itself and the skin around the nail. Carefully cover the end of the nail plate. Then we polymerize (dry) the base gel in an ultraviolet lamp for 1 minute; if using an LED lamp, 10 seconds is enough. The dried base has a sticky dispersion layer. It doesn't need to be deleted! You can only smooth the sticky layer over the surface with a dry brush. This is necessary for uniform distribution of the next component - colored gel polish.

Application of colored gel polish.

Step-by-step technology for applying gel polish. Applying a color layer

Colored gel polish can be applied in one layer - then it will be translucent, or in 2 - 3 layers to obtain a rich color. But in any case, all layers need to be made as thin as possible! When applying a thick layer of gel polish, waves and bubbles may appear on the surface of the nail. Often, especially when using dark colors, the first layer turns out to be unevenly painted. Don't try to fix this problem by adding more gel polish - it's better to apply 3 thin layers! We polymerize each layer of colored varnish gel in a UV lamp for 2 minutes or in an LED lamp for 30 seconds. Always pay attention to the end of the nail - it must be carefully painted.

The last stage of the gel polish application technology is top coating (another name is finish, finish gel).

Gel nail polish. Step-by-step technology. Application of top gel

Finishing gel is necessary to fix our coating and give additional shine. The top is applied in a thicker layer than the base and colored gel polish. Again carefully cover the ends of the nails. Dry for 2 minutes in an ultraviolet lamp or 30 seconds in an LED lamp. If the top gel is not dried properly, the shine of the coating may be lost. Next, remove the sticky (dispersion) layer using a cleanser (Cleanser is a liquid for removing the dispersion layer from the surface of gels and gel polishes).

Following the given gel polish coating technologies, You can get rid of many nail problems. At the same time, it is important to use only high-quality materials and tools, and carefully read the instructions supplied by the manufacturers - the specified drying time for each layer of gel polish may differ depending on the brand used.

First, it’s worth explaining what it is. Shellac, or in other words gel polish, is a durable coating (alternative) that will stay on the nails from 2 to 4-5 weeks. It is worth considering that the recommended wearing time is no more than three weeks.

At the moment, almost every salon performs. The quality of the coating depends on many factors:

  • Professionalism of the master.
  • Quality of materials.
  • Individuality of the organism.

In this article, we will not dwell on this in detail, but will go directly to the list of necessary materials for applying gel polish at home.

Necessary materials

The shopping list will be quite impressive. Therefore, if you decide to make gel polish yourself, first think about whether these costs will pay off for you. With a one-time application, you will have to spend a lot more money than on a one-time trip to the salon. If you want to master the procedure yourself, you should purchase the following materials:

2. Equipment

To clarify, let's look at each point separately.

Tools

Tools should be purchased from a professional store. In ordinary cheap stores, the tools are not sharpened; their blades are too thick and they can easily rip the cuticle into blood.

We recommend purchasing only certified manicure materials, for example, from us :)

List of required tools

Lint-free wipes.

Orange sticks.

Degreaser.

Sticky layer remover.

When purchasing liquids, it is best to purchase products from trusted companies. These include popular manufacturers such as Kodi Professional, Severina or Domix.

Bases, tops, primers and gel polishes

The title makes it clear what will be included in this section. However, for convenience, let’s consider the types of materials:

Bases. They come in rubber and biogels. For thin and weakened nails it is better to use biogel. It is a thicker and stronger material. On good nails Rubber bases are suitable. They are easier to work with and self-level better.

Tops. Tops can be thick and flowing, with or without a sticky layer. You should choose the consistency based on your own convenience. Tops with a sticky layer are used to secure designs, sliders, etc. A topcoat without a sticky layer is suitable for finishing coat.

Primers - strengthen the adhesion between the nail plate and the color coating, respectively. The average wear of gel polish increases.

Gel polishes. Gel polish is a colored coating. In order to choose the most suitable gel polish brand, you will have to try some of them. They differ in thickness, fluidity, color palette, etc.

Materials for designs

Materials for designs are not required to be purchased, but you will most likely quickly get tired of wearing a plain coating. To do this, you can purchase various little things that will brighten up your manicure and make it individual. Here are just some of the possible options:

Sliders.

Kamifubiki.

Ribbons.

Gel paints.

Every day there are more and more new things on the market, so it is not possible to list all available products.

An important piece of advice that can be given to novice craftsmen is not to use cheap Chinese materials. This is especially true for liquids that come into direct contact with the skin and nail plate. Chinese materials very often cause severe allergies and can cause serious harm to the body.

Applying gel polish at home

Having dealt with the shopping list in detail, you can proceed directly to the application procedure. It is worth noting that before the procedure you should under no circumstances apply cream to your hands, otherwise the coating will very quickly come off the nail plate. Shellac includes:

1. Preparation of the nail plate (manicure).

2. Application of materials.

When preparing the nail plate, it is important to follow each step, otherwise the coating will not last long.

First, let's look at the manicure process:

1. Clean the nail plate from the previous coating or varnish using.

2. Shape the free edge of the nail using a nail file. In simple terms, we file our nails to the desired shape.

3. Buff your nails. We go over the nail plate with a buff, erasing the gloss from the nail. Be careful not to file your nails.

4. Pull back the cuticles using a pusher or an orange stick.

5. For a classic manicure, soak your fingers in warm water for several minutes.

6. When hardware manicure We process the cuticles using a cutter. Carefully, at 10-15 thousand revolutions, we pass the cutter along the cuticle, moving it away from right to left, and then turning on reverse from left to right.

7. Remove the cuticle from each finger using scissors or nippers.

Gel polish application technique

We follow the instructions:

1. Degrease your nails using liquid and a lint-free cloth.

2. Apply a thin layer of primer to the entire surface of the nail plate and wait until it dries in the air (about 1 minute).

3. Apply a thin layer of the base and dry in a uv-led lamp for 30-40 seconds.

4. Align the nail plate with the second layer of the base. For beginners, this will be difficult to do, so you can simply apply a second layer of rubber base. We dry.

5. We apply a color coating in two thin layers. Dry each layer in a lamp for 30 seconds.

6. If desired, we perform any design.

7. We cover the nails with a top coat (top without a sticky layer).

8. Carefully file the nail from below with a soft nail file, removing all unnecessary.

Manicure with gel polish is ready. After the procedure, for two to three hours, you should not mess around in hot water for a long time. Correction should be carried out when the coating becomes unpresentable or the nail grows too much. The best time is three weeks.

More and more fashionistas stop visiting nail technicians in salons. Making a high-quality and bright manicure at home is no longer a problem. To date, a huge number of tools, materials and tools have appeared that help simplify the procedure for creating a manicure. Now it is not necessary to study for several months. It is enough to purchase the necessary stencils and stickers, as well as tools, and master the simple technique of applying gel polish at home.

The big disadvantage of a home manicure was its fragility, but with the advent of gel polishes, a manicure can be worn for more than two weeks. It should be noted that many girls call gel polish shellac, but this is a mistake. Shellac gel polish - produced by CND, this is an expensive original product for professional manicure, which contains an organic polymer, respectively, other non-original products are not Shellac.

Gel polish combines the properties of 2 products for nail design - a regular manicure polish and a modeling gel. Under the influence of UV waves, they polymerize, forming a dense film, i.e. there is a transition from liquid to solid state.

Step-by-step instructions for applying gel polish

When everything is purchased and prepared, you can start applying gel polish at home. At first glance, it seems that this is a very labor-intensive process, but after several procedures, you will quickly manage and hone your skills as an art designer. On average, the procedure takes from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the complexity and condition of the nails. The procedure for applying gel polish can be divided into 7 main steps.

Nail preparation

Step 1 - nail preparation. In order to start creating a manicure, your nails need to be prepared. To do this, you need to steam your hands in a bath or use a remover to remove excess skin around the nail. Then, using a nail file, give the nail the desired shape and polish it with a buff, not forgetting to process the edges and base of the nail plate.

Nail pre-treatment

Step 2 - surface preparation. To treat the surface, a buff file is required. It mattifies the nail, eliminating gloss, which prevents adhesion to the coating layer. This process is very important, because if you miss it, the gel polish can crack and chip off after a few days. After the nail becomes matte, it must be wiped with a degreaser. It is necessary to ensure that after this procedure you do not touch the plates with your fingertips. Then, a thin layer of primer is applied.

Step 3 is the process of applying the base coat. It is important to note here that after the primer has been applied, you should not pause for more than 10-15 minutes between this layer and applying the base. The base layer is applied in a thin layer, trying to avoid contact with the cuticle and other periungual tissue. Treat the end parts of the nail well so that they do not remain “bare”.

The base layer is applied to all fingers except the thumb and then dried. In a 36-watt lamp about 2 minutes. After this, the thumb is treated separately and dried. After drying your nails, you need to remove the sticky layer from them with a degreaser.

Color coating

Step 4 - applying color coating. It is also recommended to apply the selected color gel polish in a thin layer. If something gets on the periungual area, carefully remove it with an orange stick. Apply colored gel polish in the same way as the base - first 4 fingers, except the thumb, and then dry. Paint the thumb and dry for about five minutes. If the color is not distributed evenly or the layer is not as saturated as you would like, repeat the manipulations one more time.

Nail design

Step 5 - decorating your nails. Stamping, water-based stickers, rhinestones and freehand designs are applied at this stage. The process takes a minimal amount of time, and any of the techniques does not require any special skill.

To use water-based decals, cut out a design according to the shape of the nail or the necessary element and soak in water as indicated in the instructions. Usually no more than 10 minutes. Then the pattern is wiped and removed from the backing, spreading it over the nail.

To use stencils, they should be applied to the nails and smoothed. Then, each element of the stencil is drawn with colored gel polish using a brush and dried. Then remove the stencil.

To use stamping, you need to transfer the desired design to the stamp without much pressure, rolling it over the plate and clearing it of unnecessary parts, and also, without much pressure, transfer the design from the stamp to the nail.

To use tape, you need to stick it so as to separate certain areas for painting in other colors.

Finishing layer

Step 6 - applying the finishing or fixing layer. The top coat allows the manicure to last longer and also gives it a beautiful glossy shine. It is recommended to apply two finishing coats, painting the inside of the nail as well. Each layer is dried in a lamp for about 2 minutes. But, you can apply it once.

Final stage

Step 7 - removing the sticky layer. It is removed either with a degreaser or a dehydrator with a lint-free cloth. Excess gel polish that protrudes on the sides should also be removed with an orange stick or pillbox. After this, lubricate the cuticle with oil.

As a result, depending on your preferences, you get a beautiful and neat manicure, for which you would have to pay dearly to a specialist in a salon.

Removing gel polish

It is important to know . Regular acetone or nail polish remover will not remove it. In order to remove gel polish you will need: foil, a special gel polish remover and cotton pads.

Cotton pads are divided into 4 parts, each is moistened with gel polish remover, applied to the nails and wrapped in foil for half an hour. After time, the foil is removed and the remaining varnish is removed with an orange stick. If the coating does not come off well, you need to perform the manipulations again.

Main mistakes

You need to know that when preparing nails the most important things happen. mistakes, which affect the quality of the coating and the wearing time of the gel polish. They are as follows:

  • Not completely removed old coating prevents the new coating from lying flat;
  • Formation of bubbles in the base layer due to poorly removed cuticle. Because of this, the new coating at the base will crack and peel off;
  • Improper polishing with a buff can create a smooth nail plate instead of a rough surface that helps the polish adhere. Gel polish will not stick to a smooth surface;
  • Gel polish will flake off or chip if the nail plate is poorly degreased or the primer application step is skipped;
  • Sometimes nails suffer from overdrying due to the use of incorrectly selected treatment products before applying gel polish. On such nails it will immediately crack;
  • If the nail plate is thin and bends strongly, either length correction or preliminary strengthening of the nail is required, otherwise chips and cracks cannot be avoided;
  • If you hold your fingers at an angle while drying, polymerized sagging may appear;
  • You cannot apply the coating in a layer that is too thick; it will not dry out, but instead, sagging and other defects will appear;
  • Problems with the coating may also arise if the materials are not of the proper quality;
  • If you do not seal each of the applied layers, peeling is inevitable.

Reasons why gel polish does not last

The procedure for applying gel polish for beginners seems difficult, but in fact, after trying several times through trial and error, the technique improves. Beginners often ask questions about why gel polish doesn’t stick well, cracks, and lags. To prevent this from happening, experts recommend carefully and carefully following all application steps, without missing a single one.

Gel polish does not last for a number of reasons:

  • The old coating has not been completely removed;
  • The cuticle has not been completely removed;
  • The nail is poorly degreased;
  • The primer application step has been skipped;
  • The nail is not buffed properly;
  • The applied layer is too thick;
  • Some of the layers are not sealed;
  • Poor quality material, or materials of different quality mixed.

It is important to know that gel polish does not last on weak and brittle nails. If you have fragile brittle nails, it is necessary to strengthen your nails before starting the procedure of applying gel polish at home.

Almost all modern women use gel polish, and this is not surprising. By understanding how to apply the coating correctly, you will always be able to maintain the beauty of your hands at the proper level. Aerobatics is the location of the composition as close as possible to the cuticle; we will talk about these methods below. We will also present a classic scheme for creating a beautiful manicure.

Necessary materials for applying gel polish

Before painting your nails with gel polish, it is important to take care of the necessary materials and tools.

You will need:

  • pusher;
  • napkins (lint-free);
  • UV or LED lamp;
  • dehydrator (degreaser);
  • primer;
  • base;
  • color coating;
  • cuticle oil.

You will also need nippers/scissors to cut the cuticle, a nail file to shape the free edge, and a chamomile infusion to steam your hands in a bath.

Correct application of gel polish - instructions

Below is information for those who do not know how to use gel polish, taking into account all the subtleties. Creating a beautiful manicure at home comes down to the following:

1. Start by steaming your fingers and nails in particular, immersing the phalanges in a heated chamomile infusion. After a quarter of an hour, stop the procedure, cut the cuticle with tongs, and file your nails to shape.

2. Prepare everything to make gel polish, since it must be applied correctly quickly and without distractions. Start by sanding the surface using a buff. This move should not be skipped in order to ensure high-quality adhesion of the coating to the natural plate.

3. Wet a cloth in the dehydrator, then go over each nail. Spread the primer in a thin layer. You need to apply the base within 15 minutes (if you don’t do it within this period, apply a second layer of primer). Dry your nails for 30-60 seconds.

4. Start distributing the color coating by making 1 high-quality thin (!) layer. Don't touch the cuticle. At the slightest mistake, collect the excess with an orange stick. Dry the color for 60-120 seconds.

5. Repeat the layer, making it a little denser. Carry out polymerization using a lamp, holding your fingers for 1-2 minutes. Complete the manicure by applying the finish and dry for 45-60 seconds.

6. Now, using a cloth soaked in degreaser, go over each plate to remove any stickiness. You will see that your nails shine and become richer.

7. Cover the cuticles with oil and voila, the gel polish is ready! Once you understand how to correctly apply primer, base, color, finish, you will no longer ask yourself such questions.

Methods for professionally applying gel polish under the cuticle

We examined the subtleties of applying gel polish according to the classical scheme. But not every girl will be able to repeat the work of a master at home. We will describe step by step how to paint your nails literally under the cuticle.

Method No. 1

It is easier to apply the coating after a trim manicure so that the pigment does not get on the skin around the nail.

1. So, first remove the cuticle using tongs. You can skip this step and instead use a pusher to push the skin to the base of the plates.

2. Pick up pigment with a brush, squeeze out the excess on the edge of the container with gel polish. Place the brush at an acute angle (45 degrees), apply 1 thin layer. Dry, repeat 2-3 times, “pushing” the coating under the cuticle.

Method No. 2

Gel polish located as close as possible to the cuticle is considered aerobatics. Let's look at another diagram of how to apply it correctly.

1. Using an orange stick, push the cuticle to the base. While painting each nail plate, pull back the skin of the side ridges.

2. Using a thin brush, paint the area along the cuticle and periungual ridges. Dry and repeat all steps. After preparing the outline, paint the nails completely.

Method No. 3

We suggest considering another simple step-by-step method for applying gel polish.

1. Pushing the cuticle to the base, use a thin brush to paint the outline of the nail plates. With enough experience, you can do without drying. Next, immediately paint the nail with gel polish.

2. You can follow the reverse pattern: first paint the surface completely, and then use a thin brush to follow the contour as close to the skin as possible.

Nail care after applying gel polish

After studying the sequence of applying gel polish, you should follow important recommendations. They will help maintain your manicure.

1. So as not to spoil it after the procedure beautiful nails, you should refrain from going to the bathhouse/sauna and taking a bath. It is also not recommended to wash dishes in hot water. It will take 3 days to return to your normal lifestyle.

2. Gel polish cannot be filed. If necessary, adjust the shape of the free edge before applying it correctly. Otherwise, the coating will not last longer than a few days and will begin to peel off.

3. Before using cleaning and detergents gloves must be worn. Otherwise, the aggressive composition will quickly damage the structure of the gel polish. The surface will become dull and cracked.

4. It is prohibited to try to remove the gel polish yourself. In this matter it is better to trust a professional. He will carry out the procedure as safely as possible for your nails. Ripping and filing of gel polish is unacceptable.

5. It is not recommended to keep gel polish on your nails longer than prescribed. This coating has its own shelf life. In order not to harm the nail plate, it is important to regularly update the gel polish. Every 2 weeks it is reapplied, removing the old layer.

Working with gel polish is not difficult if you strictly follow the recommendations. We have presented the classic application scheme and methods for creating a professional cuticle coating. Following useful tips, the manicure will not lose its appearance for a long time.

Everyone knows what its main feature is - long-term wear. But not everyone knows how to get the most out of gel polish. That is why, when girls fall into the hands of an amateur master or start trying to cover their nails themselves, problems begin.

In order to save a little, or start making money on it themselves, girls began to leave their salon specialists en masse and try to carry out the procedure at home. At best, they take one-day courses and learn for relatively little money short course"Coating nails with gel polish." In the worst case, fashionistas try to reproduce the actions of the master from memory. Without understanding the essence of most of the actions of a manicurist, you can devalue one or another stage, not attach importance to it, or, simply, not notice the details. This is where mistakes begin.

You will need:

Is this remedy harmful?

There is an opinion that gel polish strengthens nails. This is not entirely true.

Indeed, the nails do not break under the gel and grow long. But, this happens not because the product formula contains useful trace elements and vitamins, but due to a dense multi-layer coating.

A regular monochromatic coating requires a minimum of 4 layers of preparations.

It is important to know that during pregnancy, lactation, or during the exacerbation of certain diseases, problems may arise in the wearing of gel polish: chips, “sliding”, cracking.

Sometimes, in such cases, the coating is easily removed from the nail with a film, without much effort. It is worth repeating attempts several times over time, trying to apply gel polish from another master, experimenting with brands. If the result does not change, you better abandon the idea and come to terms with the fact that this method of decorative coating does not suit you due to the individual characteristics of the organism.

What to consider

The price of such a manicure varies and can differ significantly in salons of different classes. In any case, the cost is many times cheaper if it is produced independently.

Inconveniences that may arise if you plan to cover yourself:

  1. It is inconvenient to perform the procedure yourself.
  2. Large time costs: while one hand is drying in the lamp, we cannot do anything with the other and just wait. And if we dry one nail at a time separately, it will take quite a lot of time.
  3. Immediately you need to purchase materials for a decent amount.
  4. Lack of novelty. Masters constantly attend master classes, where they learn the latest trends in this industry and offer fashionable novelties to customers;
  5. Relax and enjoy the procedure in the salon will not work. Claims are also not possible. Now you are two in one: both the master and the client.
  6. Most material will expire before you use it. This is a sad fact.

Required Tools

So, if you decide to cover your nails with gel polish (and remove it later), you will need:

  1. Lamp with ultraviolet light;
  2. a set of coatings: colored gel polish, base coat, top coat;
  3. degreaser;
  4. lint-free wipes;
  5. several nail files;
  6. brush-estimate;
  7. cotton pads;
  8. alcohol;
  9. cuticle oil;
  10. acetone/removal agent;
  11. foil/special caps for fingers.

This list includes only fixed assets and equipment. There are many auxiliary fluids that are used in specific individual cases. Don't be shy about asking sellers for advice. So, especially brittle or bending nails require additional fluids to be applied to the nail. They provide rigidity to the nail plate.

The best manufacturing companies

Today there are dozens of competing companies. The most known to the masses: "Kodi", "Creator" "Naomi", "Harmony", "Fox", "My nail", "Le vole", "Yre", "Shellac".

The most convenient to use, practical to wear and rich in color solutions, American-made CND gel polish. Shellac.

His name was the first to sound loudly in the CIS countries and became for many a synonym for the concept of "gel polish". Due to the expensive cost, not all masters could afford it. There are many options available that vary greatly in price. It was then that this procedure began to gain momentum in the salon business.

There are really many analogues. There are very worthy competitors. But, nevertheless, in some way each of them is inferior. And, if you ask any nail service master what material he would prefer to work on, his answer, of course, will be “Shellac”.

Application rules

  1. Careful hygienic manicure. It is necessary to remove irregularities and extra formations on the surface of the nail plate. If errors are made at this stage, all further work will not bring us the desired result. If you find it difficult to do this item - go to the master.
  2. We remove the top layer of the nail plate with a nail file of the most gentle abrasiveness. You just need to remove the “gloss” of the nail. No need to be afraid to damage the nail, if done correctly, it is completely harmless.
  3. We thoroughly brush away all the smallest specks of dust after sawdust. You can wipe your nails with a lint-free cloth moistened with alcohol. Then we apply a degreasing and dehydrating agent (bonder/primer). There are many varieties of them, each brand offers its own version. A sales consultant will help you make the right choice.
  4. Apply the first layer. This will be the base coat, that's what it's called. It is a transparent viscous substance. It must be applied in a thin layer. We place the brush just under the cuticle and the sides of the nail.
  5. Cover with a layer of color. Everything happens exactly like the previous stage. But, colored gel has a more liquid consistency, you need to take this into account and control the drop on the brush. Distribute the layer evenly.
  6. 2 points depend on how liquid and saturated with color pigment a particular varnish is.
    First: how many layers to apply.
    Second: cover all the nails of one hand at once or one or two at a time. If we see that the varnish spreads quickly and is difficult to control, we apply one nail at a time and send it to dry in a lamp for 2 minutes.

    If the color is very translucent, be prepared that you may need to cover with color not 2, as in most cases, but 3 times.

  7. We fix the color with a top coat. This is also a transparent substance. The consistency is more similar to colored gel polishes. It will protect your color layer from the effects of the environment and give you an amazing shine. Only after this stage does the color truly reveal itself and begin to play and shimmer in the sun.
  8. Remove the sticky layer. To do this, just wipe your nails with alcohol using a napkin.
  9. Rub in nourishing oil. At the same time, the cuticle skin is saturated with useful elements, and the coating begins to shine even more.

How to use it sparingly

  1. Buy bottles of small packaging and with a maximum shelf life. The big ones will disappear, you won’t have time to use them.
  2. Do not leave open bottles in direct sunlight. UV light will begin to dry the substance, as a result of which the gel polish will lose its uniformity and lumps and plates will appear. It can be safely thrown away.
  3. Change the bulbs of your dryer lamp periodically. Masters with a large flow of clients do this once every six months. Well, you can do this once every year and a half.
  4. Avoid getting debris into bottles and brushes. Cover exposed materials, carefully remove dust after washing, and wipe the necks of gel bottles.
  5. Don't skimp on lint-free wipes. If the brush “collects” lint and hairs, you will never be able to catch them from the bottle.
  6. It is very economical and much more convenient to apply all types of coating used in the procedure using special flat brushes. Each type has its own brush. They are washed in a special liquid after each use.
  7. Pour the products used in small drops onto the palette. The bottles can be tightly closed and completely eliminate any adverse effects on the products.

Secrets of long-term wearing

  • Under no circumstances should we touch the skin when applying layers. If this happens, wipe everything off with a lint-free cloth and do the procedure again. If this is not done, then the next day the gel polish will begin to lag behind the skin and pull the entire layer with it. The skin constantly produces water and oil, which will repel the coating.
  • We massage the hands using cream only at the very end, when all the layers have dried in the lamp. In a classic manicure, this stage precedes the coating of the nail with color. After the massage, the nails are simply wiped with alcohol and varnish is applied.

It is very important to “seal” the free edge of the nail. That is, when the plate is already evenly covered with any of the layers, run the brush along the tip before sending it into the lamp.

  • After the procedure, it is advisable not to wet your hands for 2 hours. During this time, all layers achieve maximum adhesion to each other.
  • Protect your nails from strong impacts. If they are long enough, you can not only damage the integrity of the coating, but also break the nail itself.

You cannot file down a nail covered with gel polish. This way the layers become open to air, moisture and other influences. The integrity is broken and detachments begin.

  • We do not use abrasives or aggressive detergents without gloves.
  • We make corrections on time. Gel polish wear lasts 2-5 weeks, individually. During this time, the nail grows significantly. This type of nails does not bring aesthetic pleasure. Our goal was to maintain a beautiful manicure. In addition, girls whose nails break when they reach a certain length have a chance to simply break their nails without waiting for correction.
  • Correctly and carefully remove the coating during correction.

If during correction you notice a yellowish tint to the nail plate, you should take a break (breath) between coats. Rub regularly for a month healthy oils, make baths from homemade “sea water”.

  • If your nails under gel polish still look quite presentable, but the only thing that bothers you is the lack of their previous shine, you can wipe your nails with alcohol, a degreaser, dry them in a lamp and apply a base coat.
