Panama pattern for a woman to sew. We sew hats, panamas. Materials for sewing children's panama

How to make a hat out of paper. We make our own hands for children.

A paper panama is a very simple thing to make and very practical in everyday life, a great alternative to a cap or hat on a hot sunny day. By the way, such a hat can also be used when performing repairs to protect the head from whitewashing and construction debris. How to make a hat out of paper, offers to do it with the help of video instructions. See also others in this section.

Making paper hats for kids

If you look a little into history, you can see that the Japanese were the first to use paper for decorative items and jewelry. The art of origami in Japanese means "paper craft". Naturally, the practical Japanese did not disregard such a toilet item as a headdress. They learned how to make paper hats in the Land of the Rising Sun several millennia ago, but this art has survived to this day almost unchanged.

It is noteworthy that the variety of models of paper caps is so great that if I had to describe them all, it would take at least several days. Folding patterns for paper hats are simple, like all genius, so if you are not familiar with the art of origami, it will still be easy for you to make a paper hat. It's not as difficult as it is.

Take a regular large rectangular sheet of paper (preferably A2 or A3) or newspaper. Fold it in half, and then again to outline the future center of the workpiece. Next, unfold and bend the corners towards the intended center, leaving free strips 2-3 centimeters long below. Bend these strips in different directions, fixing the resulting isosceles triangle.

To prevent the future panama from falling apart, wrap the free edges inward. It turns out? Now, with a "light movement of the hand," grab the lower edges of the triangle and unfold it so that you get the right rhombus. Tuck the free edges of the rhombus up so that you again get a semblance of a triangle. Next, smooth your cocked hat well to properly fix all the folds. That's all! The triangle is ready. This panama hat is best known as a fisherman's hat. There are also other options for paper panama hats: sombrero, soldier's hat, Dutch hat, Turkish hat, worker's hat, crown and others. See also

This panama is suitable not only for men, but also for women who prefer a sporty style.

Look at the photo, the panama sits tightly on the head, so it will not fly off in the wind, the wide brim reliably protects from the sun, and the denim and cotton lining perfectly let the air through.

The given size of the panama pattern from jeans is suitable for sizes 58-60. If you have more or less measurements, you can adjust the size of panama when trying on.

Build the details of the pattern on paper, there should be three of them: crowns, fields and bottom; cut out.

Rip old jeans at the seams, and cut out the details: 1 child. bottom; 2 children crowns and 2 children. fields. Since I had fabrics close to each other, I cut out a tulle from 4 parts, instead of the prescribed 2.

Do not forget about the seam allowances on each side of the part - about 0.7-1 cm.

Cut out the lining along the top pieces. For lining fabric, it is best to use natural fabrics- chintz, linen, calico, satin, etc. If the fabric is new, it must be washed and ironed with a hot iron to avoid shrinkage when washing panama.

How to sew a men's panama from jeans, a master class

We sew the details of the tulle from the main and lining fabric, iron the seams and, if desired, sew.

We tack the bottom to the crown of denim. We do a sample. If everything suits, we attach to sewing machine. If you are not satisfied with the size, we sew or embroider at the seams, achieving a good fit to the head.

We sew seams, if desired.

We do the same with the details of the lining fabric.

We glue interlining on an adhesive basis to the details of the fields from the lining fabric.

We sew the fields from the main and lining fabric along the short sides, iron the seams.

We sweep, and then we grind the edges of the fields along the departure on the sewing machine, cut the allowances to 3 mm.

We sew the upper edge of the fields, connecting the details of the top and lining.

We sweep, and then sew the fields on the sewing machine to the details of denim (crown + bottom).

Make sure that the side seams and the middle of the parts match!

Then with oblique stitches we sew the allowance of the crown from the lining fabric.

We sharpen the panama fields with finishing lines to the width of the foot.

That's all! As you can see, having spent quite a bit of time, everyone can sew a men's panama from jeans with their own hands.

If you have children in your family, then you know how necessary a hat or cap is needed in summer to protect the child's head from the sun's rays. Try to sew such a children's hat with your own hands. Such a children's hat is quite suitable not only for a girl, but also for a boy. Such a panama model can even be sewn for your daughter's doll.

This free master class gives a pattern for three sizes of a children's hat and a complete description of the technology for sewing a children's hat with your own hands.

Video how to sew an original women's (or for a girl's) summer double-sided panama.

How to make a pattern of a children's panama hat

The pattern of this panama hat model is simple, and the hat itself will be sewn from only two identical parts. So that you can immediately start sewing a panama hat, I am enclosing a pattern of this panama hat completely free of charge. Pattern without allowances, do not forget to add them during cutting.

In order for you to have a pattern for this panama hat, you will need a printer and adhesive tape.
If you have both, then select each image of the pattern and save them to the "Desktop" of your computer or in a special folder. Then open each image in any graphic editor, for example "Paint" and print them in full size (100%).

Dimensions: B - (solid line) pattern for a child 12-24 months. K - (dashed line) pattern for a child 2-4 years old, C - from 4 to 6 years old

Pay attention to the points 20cm (15cm) and 23cm. These are the control values \u200b\u200bneeded to check the pattern after printing on the printer. If, after printing the pattern, the lower horizontal of the left side is 20 cm (right -15 cm), and the vertical (the line connecting both parts of the pattern) is 23 cm, then the dimensions of the pattern are correct. If this data is slightly different, then you will need to adjust the printer's print settings or expand the pattern in any way you know how, for example, cut it (in glued form) vertically and horizontally and move the pieces apart a little.

Both parts of the pattern are glued with adhesive tape, then outlined on the fabric and this part is rotated along the fold line. Add allowances (1 cm) along the contour and cut out.

To avoid damaging the paper, print out this test square first. If its sides are 13 cm, then you can print the details of the panama pattern.

The technology of sewing a children's summer panama

Sewing this panama hat with your own hands is not difficult at all, it is enough to cut out two identical parts of the cap from the same material or combine it as in my master class.
Then pin them together with pins, or baste by folding both pieces right sides inward.

Stitch these details on sewing machine along the winding contour of the panama hat, with an allowance of 1 cm, as shown in the photo.
Be sure to leave a small area unsewn, within 5-7 cm.

To make the panama look neat when finished, be sure to notch the sections that are concave inward, as shown in this photo. Notch carefully so as not to cut the seam thread.

Convex sections, on the contrary, need to be cut off. In this case, these curved sections will lay out well.

How to turn out a panama hat

Now you need to find the hole left unsewn and turn the panama hat through it onto your face.

Turn it out carefully so as not to tear the connecting seam.

This is how the panama panama turned out, outwardly, something similar to a sea stingray.

Finishing stitch along the edge of the hat

In order for the seam to lay out neatly and evenly, be sure to secure it with oblique stitches after turning out the panama hat, as shown in the photo.

Iron along the outline of the panama hat, making sure the seam runs exactly along the rib.

The hole through which you turned the hat inside out also needs to be ironed, with the same allowance.

You will have to sew up the hole manually, with neat, inconspicuous stitches.

After that, you will only have to make one or two finishing lines along the contour of the panama hat.

Lay the finishing line along the edge of the panama on the wrong side, retreating from the edge of 2 mm. If you are going to do only one line, you can retreat a little more.

The edge of the panama, processed with two finishing lines, it seems to me, will be more beautiful.

How to make buttonholes on a panama hat

On the panama pattern there is a buttonhole marking for each of the three hat sizes. Transfer this marking to the panama hat, mark the length of the buttonhole and sew the buttonhole on the sewing machine.

Now, with the help of a ripper, you need to cut the loops, making sure not to damage the threads of the loop.

How to adjust panama size

If you make a mistake with the size of the hat, or your child grows, the size of the hat can be easily changed.

To do this, just increase or decrease the distance between the buttons that you sewed on the back of the panama.

This hat will look so cute and original on the back of the head of your child or doll.

It is better to put a soft cotton fabric inside such a panama.

So the warm time has come, sunny days, swimming, walking. The mood is high. So it's time to sit down at the typewriter and sew something new. 🙂

I propose sew a baby hat for a girl, which is just right for the season.

p.s According to the same scheme, you can sew a panama hat for a boy, we will reduce the width of the fields.

The process won't take long. And the result will be beautiful and delight you and those around you, and most importantly - protect your baby's head from the sun.

Materials:

  • The main fabric is approximately a square of 0.5 x 0.5 m.
  • Thermal fabric for strengthening the fields 7 cm x 60 cm.
  • Threads in tone or in harmony with the color of the fabric
  • Bow (flower) for decoration (optional)
  • Tools (machine, scissors, basting needles)
  • Pattern

Panama pattern can be easily drawn by yourself according to this pattern:

To build a pattern to the desired size measure the circumference of your head and divide by 3.14 (Og/3.14=D)- this will be the diameter of the panama bottom.

The radius of the panama fields is calculated by the formula:

R2 \u003d Head circumference / 2 * 3.14 + panama field width (6-13 cm).

Tula - rectangle AB \u003d A1B1 - head circumference, AA1 \u003d BB1 - product depth (usually 9-10 cm.)

Solid geometry. 🙂

How to sew a baby hat. Master class with photo.

We cut out the panama details from the prepared fabric (according to this pattern):

Add 1.5cm seam allowances.

Tula - 2 parts with a fold

Fields - 4 parts

Panama bottom 2 parts

We sew two identical panama hats.

1. Connect fields panama along the side seams. Iron the seams. You get two circles.

2. Connect the edges of the crown. Iron the seam.

Strengthen the panama fields with thermal fabric. Cut out according to the pattern WITHOUT seam allowances. We apply to the fields with a rough side down! We put the iron on the part and hold for 8 seconds. Alternately rearrange the iron to other parts of the part. Important: do not iron!!!

P.S. I made it in two parts (technical situation 🙂). But better with one solid part.

3. We attach the bottom of the panama to the crown (face to face) using a basting or needles. Run on a typewriter.

4. Connect the parts of the panama (field and cap) together using a basting. Run on a typewriter.

5. Repeat with the rest of the details. You will get two identical blanks.

P.S. The fields of the inner panama can not be strengthened with thermal fabric.

6. “Face to face” we put one panama into another.

7. We make a seam in a circle. Leave a hole to turn the product inside out.

8. We turn out our panama hat.

9. Close the hole. Iron well. Sew along the very edge of the panama fields.

10. Sew on a flower (bow), turning the front half of the fields to the cap.

We catch the model and try it on. 🙂 Our Panama ready for a girl.

Cap and panama-four-piece
Wedge Width = Head Circumference: 4 + 1 cm

Building a wedge pattern:

wedge pattern

CAP

For a cap, it is necessary to cut out a visor, the width of which is equal to the width
wedge. The insert for the visor can be cut out of a plastic bottle.

Wedges to grind in pairs, on one of the wedges to make a semicircular
hole, which is processed by turning, after inserting
decorative elastic band (strings, plastic clasp).
Sew a visor to the opposite wedge.
Process the bottom with a facing. Lay a relief line along the bottom.

If the top fabric is light, then similarly, you can cut out the lining from
coarse calico, fold the top (with a visor) and the lining face inward and stitch,
leaving a hole for turning.

BANDANA

Cut off 3-4 cm from the bottom of the wedge pattern.

Sew the wedges in pairs, on one of the wedges make a semicircular cutout, which is processed by turning.
Cut out a bottom facing with a width of 6-8 cm and a length equal to the girth of the head with
allowance for a loose fit (4 cm) plus two lengths of ties (15-20
cm).

Fold the facing in half lengthways facing inward. Stitch to tie length
making them at the ends with a bevel. Turn out the facing and process the bottom with it,
combining the ends of the semicircular neckline and the beginning of the ties.

PANAMA

If the width of the fields is 3-4 cm, they will be sloping, with a larger width, the fields will be bent upwards.

Add the width of the field to the height of the wedge.
With this radius, draw a semicircle from the highest point of the wedge. This will be the bottom cut line of the margins.
Cut off the field pattern as a separate piece.

Cut out the fields in the amount of 4 parts with a fold (2 upper and 2 lower).

Stitching the side seams, the fields are folded face inward. To the top
fields put a lining of coarse calico. All three parts to grind on the outside
contour. Turn out the fields, straighten the seam and sweep it. By fields
lay several parallel lines with an interval of 0.5 cm.

Panama, brim and facing fold face inward, cut outward and grind.
Turn the panama inside out, iron the facing inside out. On the bottom of the lining
lay a seam, at the same time grabbing the sections of the wedges and panama fields.

cap and panama-six-piece
Wedge Width = Head Circumference: 6 + 0.7cm
Wedge Height = Head Circumference: 4 + 2 cm
Building a wedge pattern:

CAP

It is sewn similarly to a cap of four wedges. Visor insert is better
use the finished one, and on its basis make a visor pattern.

You can determine the width of the visor by the formula: "head circumference divided by 4 + 1 cm".
A semicircular cutout for the fastener must be made at the junction of two wedges opposite from the visor.

PANAMA

From the highest point of the wedge with a radius equal to the height of the wedge, draw
semicircle to the intersection with the sides of the wedge. It will be
the line of the bottom and the line of the inner cut of the margins.

Add the width of the field to the height of the wedge. Draw this radius
semicircle from the highest point of the wedge. This will be the bottom line.
fields.

Cut off the field pattern as a separate piece. This will be the third part for building the main pattern of the field.
Cut out the fields in the amount of 4 parts (2 upper and 2 lower).
It is sewn similarly to a panama of four wedges.

PANAMA FLOWER
panama flower pattern

To build a pattern of petals, it is necessary to determine the central
wedge point along the bottom line. From this point with a radius of "half the width
wedge + 1 cm” draw a semicircle. This will be the bottom edge of the petal.

From the top point of the wedge with the radius of the height of the wedge, draw a semicircle to
intersection with the side cuts of the wedge. This will be the bottom cut of the wedge.
Continue the line further to the intersection - this will be the inner cut
petal.

Cut off the petal pattern as a separate piece. Cut the petals into
the number of 12 parts (6 top and 6 bottom). Upper petal details
glue with interlining.

Fold the top and bottom petals face inward and stitch along
bottom cut. Turn the petal inside out, straighten the seam and sweep it.

Fold the petals in front of each wedge so that the edge of one is on the edge of the other and stitch.
Treat the bottom of the panama with a facing or lining.

BANDANA WITH METAL BLOCK

Pattern Width = Head Circumference + 20cm
Height = Head circumference

The general scheme of the model:

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Blocks are placed in pairs at an equal distance around the circumference, radius
which is equal to half the circumference of the head with an allowance for free fit
2 cm

A cord is threaded into the blocks, its ends are fixed with clamps.
