Every autumn, in anticipation of the winter blues, I dress in black and gray, but by the end of February I want to immediately burn it all and create a completely new wardrobe in bright and cheerful colors. I’m probably not alone in my aspirations, otherwise how else can I explain that the autumn-winter collections of most brands are made in darker and deeper colors, while the spring-summer offer us different variations of light and bright. Along with the desire to buy all this yellow-pink-blue-orange, concerns usually come: what to wear it with? These concerns often lead us to avoid colors we know nothing about and stick to a few traditional patterns we learned a long time ago.

Choose the appropriate color. For example, rich yellow. We click on the combination diagram (or better yet, on everything in turn) and we get 6 ready-made palettes.

We take screenshots on our phone and go to the store with them.

What else?

There are several websites that create photo-based color palettes with vibrant color schemes. It’s worth visiting them to get inspired, or to choose specific combinations for the desired color. For example:

in color balance (this is the site of designer, colorist and photographer Alex Romanuke, who creates palettes by hand)

You can go the third way: take a photo of the combination you like and break it down into colors by uploading the picture to sites like pictaculous.com or color.adobe.com (this Adobe application compiles palettes according to schemes, like colorscheme, and lays out the uploaded photo into a scheme).

Actually, color combinations are not exhausted in 6 schemes, because we take them from nature, which is beautiful and diverse. To work well with color, you should focus on natural combinations, the works of great artists, designers, architects and photographers. Of course, this does not mean that we will be able to repeat the same complex color combination right away or come up with something of our own, just as ingenious, but the same rule works here as with “innate” literacy and style in a language: to write well, you need read a lot of good literature.

Good work with color and more brightness in your life!

Fashion photographer

Monochrome is in fashion - a combination of things of the same color scheme in one look. This look doesn’t have to be made up of clothes of the same shade: a light jacket and dark trousers of different shades of the same color are also a stylish monochrome.

The most popular monochrome combinations are total black and total white. It is impossible to say exactly when such images first appeared, but they have firmly entered the wardrobe of the modern fashionista. And we have a video demonstrating the hypnotic appeal of this trend:

Rule #1

The new monochrome is not only black and white

Classic total black and white bows will no longer surprise anyone. Today, designers and stylists are experimenting with the entire color range so that the image is not banal. It is especially fashionable to make bright monochrome.

Rule No. 2

Shoes don't always have to match the color of your outfit.

Shoes or boots can become a field for experimentation. If you don't want to go all out with a monochromatic look, just brighten up the look with bright shoes.

Rule No. 3

Pay close attention to accessories

Don't forget about accessories, but don't overload your bow with them. A bright set of clothes speaks for itself - don't add too much jewelry. However, in the case of calm black and white bows, accessories will come to the rescue.

Rule No. 4

Makeup should look harmonious

If a monochrome look seems boring, try bright makeup. Can match the chosen color! Then the look will be trendy, relevant and complete. In the case of monochrome with basic colors, makeup can become an interesting accent and add dynamics to the image.

Combining colors to create a harmonious image that emphasizes feminine beauty is not so easy. Sometimes the doubts are so great that you want to give in to temptation and wear a one-color ensemble. It would seem, what could be simpler? But it was not there! Creating a stylish monochrome look requires extraordinary taste.

In the past, monochrome meant a combination of black and white colors or, alternatively, a gradation of gray shades, but today everything has changed. Essentially, the minimalist style involves a mix of similar shades of the same color within the same range. But the “highlight” is that the image should look absolutely colorful. Many designers resort to this technique, practicing the use of monochrome in all colors of the rainbow. And Hollywood celebrities demonstrate extraordinary awareness of the latest trends, sporting colorful monochrome outfits.

Plain clothes within a monochrome style can be worn in two variations:

  • an image composed of elements in one shade of one color;
  • an image composed of different shades of the same color.

The simplest, but quite effective version of monochrome is black. This look can match an evening look, a casual look, or a sporty look.

An equally common option is white monochrome. Yes, it’s impractical, but it has the right to life.

The most versatile and natural version of monochrome is, of course, beige, but in this look the primary role is given to accessories, makeup and hair styling, because there is a risk of looking faded and inexpressive.

What are the benefits of a monochrome style?

  1. The attention of others is guaranteed!
  2. Plain clothes elongate the silhouette and make you look slimmer.
  3. A monochrome look provides a wide range of accessory choices.
  4. This is practically the only case when colored tights (to match the color of the clothes) look appropriate and do not evoke associations with immaturity.

In a monochrome look, the presence of bright accents is welcomed, which are accessories of a contrasting color. Stylists not only advise using them, but strongly recommend them, because the likelihood of looking like a large one-color spot is very high. And we should not forget that the choice of clothing colors should not be based on the hot trends of the season, but on your own color type of appearance.
