DIY New Year's mood
I want to give you 2 simple master class for making New Year's soap. It is very easy to do, and for this you will need:
- dyes: brown and red
- flavoring or essential oil(optional)
- form
- alcohol spray
First we make the bottom of the soap. It will look a little like cake. To do this, melt the transparent base in the microwave (after cutting it into small squares), add dye and pour it into the mold. There should be a layer. This will become our “crust”. Then we use the same principle to make the “powder”. Only the layer should be two-layer white and red. After it hardens, you need to chop it finely. Do not forget to make rough edges between layers using a toothpick to ensure strong adhesion of the layers. Pour the white melted base over the brown layer, and while it is still wet, sprinkle with two-layer powder. Sprinkle everything with alcohol or vodka and let it harden. You can cut New Year's soap in any way you like: in the form of squares or triangles, or you can use iron molds and give it a festive shape.
The second option is less complicated. But for this you will need a simple herringbone shape. It can be found in children's dough and sand modeling kits or purchased separately.
We will need:
- soap base: white and transparent
- mold in the form of a Christmas tree (snowflakes)
- rectangular shape
- green or red dye
- essential oil or fragrance
- spray with alcohol or vodka
The first stage is making a Christmas tree. To do this, you need to melt a little white base and pour it into the mold. Let the piece cool completely. Place in a rectangular shape. Then melt the clear base, add coloring and fragrance and pour it over the white soap base Christmas tree. Sprinkle with alcohol and let cool well.
There is nothing complicated in the manufacturing process. If you don’t have a soap maker’s store in your city, you can order all the ingredients in online stores or, simply, buy ordinary natural soap instead white and glycerin colorless.

How to make New Year's soap.
For the soap, I chose New Year's plastic molds in the shape of a spruce tree and a snowflake. Wash and dry the uniform. The shape with the snowflake is embossed, I would like to emphasize it somehow. I suggest adding New Year sparkle after all. Use a toothpick to add a small amount of glitter, making sure that it is evenly distributed along the bottom of the mold. I decided to make my first snowflake red, so I sprinkled in burgundy glitter.

To make the soap base melt faster, I advise you to cut it into small cubes. We cut the transparent and white bases. You need half as much white base as transparent base.

Heating the base is easier and faster in the microwave. We transfer the transparent base into a heat-resistant container and put it in the microwave, first for 30 seconds, then for another 10-20 seconds. I advise you to heat it this way, step by step, because if you put the base on for a long time at once, you can boil it, and this is extremely undesirable. Add 4-5 drops of red dye and 4-5 drops of Mandarin fragrance to the melted base. What would New Year be without tangerines! Stir gently with a skewer, but not for long, otherwise the base will begin to harden. And if, after all, you hesitate, and the base has frozen a little, covered with a film, just reheat everything in the microwave for literally 10 seconds!

Carefully pour the colored scented soap base into the mold. You need to fill about two-thirds of the mold. Be careful: the melted base is quite hot. Let it harden for 15-20 minutes. We will not wait for the soap to completely harden; we need only the very top layer to set so that we can pour the next one.

In order to make our transparent colored soap look brighter and more interesting, I suggest making an additional fill with a white soap base. Melt the pre-chopped white base. Don't be surprised: the white base is a little more difficult to heat than the transparent one. We put it for 20-30 seconds, then for another 10-20 seconds in the microwave. Add 2-3 drops of Mandarin fragrance to the melted white base, mix and pour over the transparent red layer. After 20-30 minutes, remove from the mold - and now our bright New Year's soap is ready. Now it’s time for snowflakes of other shades.

I advise you to add the same fragrance to different layers of multi-layer soap. If you decide to add different ones, the smell may end up being completely indistinct. It is better to make another soap with a different scent.
To make the soap harden faster and come out of the mold easily, place it in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.
The soap will retain its aroma longer if you wrap it in cling film before packaging.

To make New Year's soap with a toy you will need:
Step 1. Take a clear soap base and cut it into small cubes. 
Step 2. Melt the soap base in the microwave or in a water bath and add a little coloring and fragrance to it. 
Step 3. Treat the toy with alcohol. Pour blue soap into the molds, stepping back about two centimeters from the edge and place the toy upside down in the soap base, holding it by the bottom. Wait until the soap hardens and the toy stops floating.
Step 4. Rub ordinary white soap on a grater and cut into shavings with a knife.
Step 5: Spray the hardened soap with rubbing alcohol and sprinkle with white soap shavings and crumbs.
Step 6. Sprinkle everything with alcohol and fill it with melted transparent base. The soap base should not be very hot so as not to melt the shavings. 
Step 7. Cool and remove it from the mold.

What you will need for New Year's soap:
- 100 grams of soap base (It can be white and transparent, sold in soap-making stores. If you don’t want to buy a whole kilogram of base, you can buy a ready-made soap-making kit, which already includes all the necessary components);
- base oil - 1 tsp (this is the most useful ingredient in handmade soap, sea buckthorn, olive, sweet almond, etc. are usually used);
- food coloring, a few drops (you can use natural dyes, for example, sea buckthorn oil);
- flavoring or favorite essential oil - 5-7 drops;
- silicone or plastic mold in the shape of a snowflake, star or something New Year's;
- dry herbs, glitters or other additives (if desired).
So, first we cut the soap base into small cubes. Since the soap is New Year's, we will make it with pine oil and herbs.
Place it in a saucepan and place it in a water bath. You can also melt the base in the microwave, the main thing is not to overheat, the melting point is 70 degrees.
After it has melted, add base oil, a few drops of dye, herbs, flavoring and mix well.
After the mass has hardened, you can remove the soap from the mold.
