Christmas ball made of postcards or cardboard. DIY paper Christmas balls: diagrams, photos and video instructions A combination of several different textures

Back in school days, during labor lessons, everyone made similar Christmas tree decorations. Even now, such New Year's balls, which we will make from ordinary paper quickly and step by step with our own hands, have not lost their relevance. With a large selection of store-bought Christmas tree decorations, such homemade products are unique in their appearance and decorative design.

How to make bright Christmas balls from paper with your own hands

Very easy to make, such an interesting ball that is perfect for New Year's decor.In order to make such a ball you need to take the following materials:

  1. Double-sided paper in three contrasting colors;
  2. Stipler;
  3. Glue;
  4. Scissors;
  5. Thread.

First you need to cut out circles from paper. A glass, shot glass or other container of the desired size is perfect for this. There should be 12 circles, 4 for each color.

The circles need to be folded in half and nested inside each other in such a sequence that two adjacent colors are the same. It turns out that we start with one color, then there are 2 circles of a different color, again circles of the third color and ends with a circle of the first color.

Along the fold line you need to connect the circles using a stapler.

After this you need to connect the circles together. To do this, one element must be connected to an adjacent element on one side from above, and to an element on the other side from below, and continue this until all the circles are connected to each other.

The result should be a Christmas ball like this.

Let's assemble an interesting ball of paper without glue using an interesting technique

To make such a ball you do not need glue. The technique for constructing such a ball is very simple. In order to make such a simple but interesting Christmas tree toy, you need to cut out three circles from thick cardboard different color and fold them according to the diagram. The assembly diagrams are designed so that even a child can understand the assembly sequence.

Ball from postcards:

With the help of old New Year cards you can make a wonderful New Year's toy. To make such a ball you need to cut out 8 circles from a postcard (magazine, newspaper). In the middle of the circle you need to outline a triangle by eye so that its three vertices touch the edge of the circle. You need to fold the paper along the lines of the triangle. Next, 4 triangles need to be glued together along the folds. Having made an identical half, you need to fasten them with glue and tie or glue a ribbon on which the ball will be hung.

All steps are clearly visible in the photo.

If you don’t have postcards or you just want to make the toy brighter, you can print ready-made blanks for making such a ball.

DIY New Year's ball made from stripes:

Using ordinary strips of paper, you can make a wonderful toy that can decorate not only the tree, but also the table. Such lantern balls look funny, and additional decoration with the help of different beads will add zest.

In order to make such a ball you need to cut colored paper into strips of equal length and width. On average, 16 strips are used per product.

You need to fold all the strips into a stack and thread a thread from one end through all the strips and secure it with tape or a knot. The thread also needs to be threaded from the other end of the strips.

The strips need to be bent and the thread secured to the desired length. The thread can be decorated at both ends with different beads and tassels made of thread or yarn.

The result should be a flashlight like this.

Also, if you bend the strips at right angles in the middle, you can get a lantern of a more interesting shape.

Fluffy balls.

The interior can be diversified with such funny paper pom-poms. They are made very simply. To do this you need a stack paper napkins stapler glue and thread. A small stack of 6-8 napkins needs to be secured with a stapler in the middle. Next, you need to cut out a circle from them. After the circle is ready, you need to lift the napkin layer by layer, pressing it slightly at the base. The result should be a fluffy half.

Having made a second one using the same technology, they need to be glued together. After this you will get such a funny fluffy ball.

If you want to make balls of different sizes using this method, then you need to make different diameters of the circle. For this you will need large napkins. The larger the ball, the larger the diameter and the larger the napkin.

You can also use doll eyes and a cap to decorate such a product. So you can have your own New Year's elf.

Video on the topic of the article

To make it much easier and clearer for you, we suggest watching a video selection on making New Year’s Christmas balls. The video describes in detail all the manufacturing steps, so with the help of the video instructions it will not be difficult to make similar products to decorate the room on a holiday.

There is already very little time left before the next new year. And, of course, many residents of our country have already begun to decorate the Christmas tree in their apartments and houses. Of course, in our time in stores, no matter what New Year’s toys and decorations they sell, it would seem, buy and decorate. But it’s much more pleasant and interesting to do new Year decoration with your own hands from available materials at home.
To make one of these Christmas tree toys we needed:

  • postcards 2 pcs.;
  • scissors;
  • compass or small glass;
  • PVA glue and super glue;
  • pencil and ruler;
  • ribbon;
  • rhinestones or sequins.

The fact is that while I was still at school, I collected postcards, and after graduation I didn’t throw them away or give them to anyone, so I have a large selection of postcards for various kinds of crafts. Since we are going to make a New Year's toy, I chose the most brilliant ones from my variety of cards, and which are not too bad to cut.

On the back of the two postcards we have chosen, with a compass or as we do, using a small glass stack, we draw 20 identical circles.

And carefully cut them out with scissors.

Our mugs turned out to be 40mm in diameter. But you can make circles of any size, the main thing is that all circles have the same diameter.

Now we need to inscribe an equilateral triangle into each circle on the reverse side. We made a template out of cardboard and traced the triangle with a pencil, duplicating it on each circle.

Then, on all 20 circles, we bend three identical sides, that is, we bend the edges of the circles along the lines of the triangle inscribed in it.
Tip: it’s better to do this with a ruler to make the folds smoother.

I decided to make the top and bottom of the toy from a lilac postcard, and the middle from green. Therefore, next we take the first five circles of lilac color and, using PVA glue, glue them together one by one by the bent sides. It should look like the following photo.

By analogy, we make the bottom of the toy ball from the remaining five lilac circles.
Next we need to make the middle from the remaining 10 green circles. To do this, we glue them together into strips with PVA glue and close them into a “ring”. How to properly glue into stripes is shown in the following photo.

It should look like these three parts of the next New Year's Christmas decorations: top, bottom and middle.

Since we plan to hang this toy on our home Christmas tree, we need to make a loop on which we will hang it. To do this, we carefully insert both sides of the ribbon into the center of the upper part of the toy and tie it from the inside with a couple of knots. The ribbon should be about 20 cm, otherwise our toy will look ugly. That is, the length of the ribbon should correspond to the size of the toy.

Now carefully glue all parts of the toy ball together with PVA glue.
I made this toy with my four-year-old son, so at the joints of the toy, irregularities and holes are visible here and there. To hide them and add beauty and shine to our toy, we glued round silver rhinestones left over from the nursery using super glue. But you can use sequins or shiny beads instead, for example.

Here is such a wonderful and original ball-toy for the New Year tree.

But it is absolutely simple to make and even school-age children can make it.
Happy New Year to everyone!
A family holiday should represent the warmth of the whole family, it will be great if you have a family gathering and make balloons from cards that will delight you throughout the Christmas holidays.

To make these Christmas tree decorations, you will need:

Old New Year cards;
- rhinestones, sequins;
- tapes; glue;
- triangular and round template;
- pencil; scissors.

Step-by-step technology for making Christmas tree balls:

Cut out a circle five centimeters in diameter and use it as a template to cut out 20 circles from old postcards. Cut out the template in the shape of a triangle.

Use a triangle to shape the circles as shown in the following image. Our Christmas tree decorations will consist of them.

For the upper part, glue five circles together, for the lower part, glue a similar number of circles together, for the central part, use the remaining ten. Don't forget to attach a ribbon loop to the top. You should have the following shapes. Glue all the parts of the ball together.

If desired, as an additional decoration, you can use sparkles, sequins, beads, rhinestones, bows and other beautiful little things that will make your postcard balls more festive. Making such a wonderful toy will take you just a few minutes, and you will spend a minimum of money.

You can make such a ball for decorating a Christmas tree with your own hands.

When I was little, I saw someone have a very unusual ball made from postcards. I really wanted to learn how to make these balls. It turned out that it is not at all difficult.

I learned how to make balloons from postcards. They were large, elegant, I really liked them, but I couldn’t figure out where to use them. So I made the same ball, only small, from thick colored paper. This ball could be hung on a Christmas tree.

Then I made two more of the same Christmas balls, both from. In this form, this garbage, which any normal person I would have thrown it away a long time ago, it has been decorating my Christmas tree for about a decade and a half)))

At the time I made these balls, there was not such a variety of creative materials on sale as there are now (glitter cardboard, shiny paper with a holographic effect, etc.).

One day in the store I came across toothpaste in an unusually beautiful shiny box that I couldn’t pass by :) That’s how I saw paper with holographic glitter for the first time.

At home, I tried to erase the inscriptions from it with acetone. Although with great difficulty, it was possible. I took the box apart and made a ball out of it. How beautifully it sparkled and sparkled with all the colors on the Christmas tree in the light of the electric garland!

Then I came across advertising brochures for some expensive imported car care products. The advertisement was printed on thick mother-of-pearl paper. I have never seen such paper before either. There were few places without text and pictures on it, so even for a small ball of such booklets it took several :)

Now from beautiful paper And there are no problems with cardboard, so you can make a lot of beautiful and different balls.

To make a ball, you first need to draw or print this template.

Using this template, cut out 20 identical circles from cardboard, thick foil or paper. The diameter of the finished ball is 2 times the diameter of these circles. For example, my first ball is approximately 5.6 cm in diameter, and the diameter of the circles that make it up is 2.8 cm.

Bend each circle along the lines marked with a dotted line on the template (the lines form an equilateral triangle inscribed in the circle, all its angles are 60°) so that you get a triangle with rounded parts bent to the front side.

Apply glue to these bent parts from the wrong side and glue 10 triangles together into one strip as in the diagram below. The edges of this strip are also glued together to form a ring. This ring is the middle part of the ball.

Glue the remaining 10 triangles together in groups of 5 (see circles at the bottom of the same diagram). Glue a loop into the center of one of these circles and secure it from the inside with a piece of tape. These are the top and bottom parts of the ball.

Glue the circles to the ring to make a ball.

The craft is participating in the “Christmas tree -party” event in “Mom Blogs”.

Happy creativity!
